GPCA#9 Today is a very exciting day at Sweet Treats Inc. in San Francisco, California. My boss Clarence and I are going to introduce the most delicious Valentines candy ever, the “Sweet”ish Heart. This large candy heart (12”long by 18”wide) has the same delicious flavor as the candy everyone knows and loves, the Sweedish Fish. With one bite into the cherry flavored heart, you or your “sweet”heart will fall in “love” with the squishy, sweet goodness. The original “Sweet”ish heart can be purchased at Target, Walmart, Walgreens, and CVS. If you are looking for something a little more personal, visit our website www.yoursweetishheart.com. Our website offers personalized “Sweet”ish Hearts. You can get a name or any of the following conversational phrases on your heart: LUV U, BE MINE, LOL, TEXT ME, or CALL ME. Online orders must be placed by February 7 to qualify for standard shipping. For last minute shoppers, overnight shipping is available until February 12 for an additional fee. Our hope is that everyone’s heart skips a beat with this latest and greatest candy made at Sweet Treats Inc.
GPCA#8 Written communication has changed dramatically over time, from people writing on stones to using the Pony Express to texting. This change has impacted the way people interact with each other and there are pros and cons to modern written communication. One of the most important benefits is how quickly you can contact someone. In the past it could take days or weeks to get a letter to someone, but now it takes only seconds with texts or emails. Another important benefit is that you can share information with multiple people at the same time. For example, you can send an email invitation to a party to many people at one time instead of writing the invitation over and over again. This also saves the environment by reducing the amount of paper used. One of the big negatives is that people spend less time communicating verbally. It's much easier to text someone than call them to discuss something. I think that people spend too much time texting and emailing eachother. I think that it is rude when people constantly have their faces in their phones instead of looking at eachother and talking. Another negative is that sometimes people don't think before they write. For example, someone might be mad at their friend and send a mean text without thinking about other people's feelings. Overall, I think the changes in written communication are positive. Without these changes I'd be writing and editing this on paper instead of sharing it with my grade online.
GPCA#7I Wish I wish I had one more chance to have a baby sister or brother. When my sister was born I was 2 years old, and when my brother was born I was 4. Because I was so young when my siblings were born, I don't remember them as babies. Now that I'm so much older I would be able to help my mom with the baby. I had the opportunity to spend several days with my newborn cousin, Stella, in November, and I enjoyed her so much that I started imagining what it would be like to have a baby at my house all the time. I think it would be so much fun to feed the baby a bottle, hold, and play with him/her. It would be amazing to see how much the baby changes in short periods of time. Although my mom doesn't want to crush my wishes, she thinks three kids are enough. Instead, we decided to get a puppy!

2013 Resolution
For the year 2013, my New Year’s resolution is to expand the repertoire of foods that I eat. Ever since I was a baby I have been an extremely picky eater. Not only are there a limited number of foods that I like, but I’m also specific about the brands. This year my goal is to taste a minimum of one new food each month. If I follow through with my resolution, by 2014, I will have sampled at least 12 new foods and hopefully will like at least one! GPCA#5 To Die For Cashmere Cardigan
Every fifth grader needs this hot pink, cashmere hip length cardigan. Silver rhinestones trim the neckline and green ruffles line the bottom. Girls will fall in love with the shiny heart shaped buttons. Whether you throw it over a tank or long sleeves, this sweater is perfect for every season.

November 4, 2012 Dear Aunt Ca, Hi! How are you? It feels like I haven’t seen you forever. You haven’t seen me since I turned ten. I can’t wait to visit with you in New York for Thanksgiving. I’m so excited to show you my pierced ears.
I’ve been thinking about you over the past few weeks, especially since Hurricane Sandy struck New York. My mom told me that you did not have power and I am hoping that you are safe and warm. Did you stay with a friend or were you home the whole time? Besides the hurricane, what has been going on in your life over the past seven months?
Fifth grade is fantastic, I love it so much! My teachers make learning so interesting. We are working on an immigration project in social studies and we are learning about verbs in writing. This fall I started taking tennis lessons and I am improving tremendously. My favorite stroke is the overhead smash.
I am writing this letter because I miss you. I also want to tell you how much you mean to me and what an awesome aunt you are. Whenever I visit you we always spend quality time together. I enjoy the fun activities that we do together like arts and crafts and board games. Ever since I was a baby you have read books to me and I still enjoy them to this day. I appreciate that you are always asking me about school, my friends, and activities.
Thank you so much for all the time that you spend with me when we are in New York. I love you so, so much and I am so lucky to have a great, “great aunt” like you in my life. It is only a couple more weeks until I see you and I am counting down the days!
Love, Emma
GPCA#3On The Court and in the Studio If I could change places with someone for a day, I would choose professional tennis player Serena Williams. I look up to Serena because she is both an incredible tennis player and a fashion designer. I would be happy to be either one when I grow up. I just started playing tennis and I really enjoy the sport. Serena gets to play tennis every day and that is something I would love to do. If I were Serena Williams I would get to play tennis on tv in front of large crowds and that would be so amazing. Being a professional tennis player would allow me to travel the world and visit new places like Australia, England, and France. Like Serena, I would express myself through fashion on the tennis court by wearing bright and colorful clothes. Having my own fashion line would be so cool. I would use my creativity to design jewlery, purses, scarves and clothes. Playing professional tennis and designing fashion would be two of the most amesome jobs ever.
